Walmyr Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Mello having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Angulo's Walmyr Vinhas got a free kick in the 6th minute. Ernesto Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí Neiva in the 7th minute of play. Angulo's Ernesto Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro da Fonseca in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Ramiro da Fonseca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernesto Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Giuseppe Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Vitinho Mello made a huge save. After 16 minutes, João Francisco Sarmento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piao SS and the Angulo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Angulo booed when Piao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Raí Neiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piao SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. A collision led to Angulo getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Paulo Renato Gomes hit a great ball. In the 30th minute Raí Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Piao SS's Raí Neiva in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Angulo's goalie prevented a goal. In the 36th minute, Raí Neiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernesto Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ramiro da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ernesto Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angulo's Ernesto Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raí Neiva in the 42nd minute of play. Vitinho Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Vinhas in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After having played for 52 minutes, Ramiro da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramiro da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raí Neiva struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Ernesto Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piao SS. In the 59th minute Piao SS were awarded a corner. Régis de Almeida went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 64th minute Raí Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The audience was convinced that Raí Neiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Senna was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Giuseppe Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Ernesto Senna came out and tried to block the shot, but Raí Neiva slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 89th minute. Walmyr Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piao SS played a much better game than Angulo and deserved their victory. The Angulo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
