The audience was convinced that Dé Prata's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodolfo Schmidt was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. The Titiarre SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodolfo Schmidt should have stopped the shot. Almir Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válter Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes Flamengo do Cerrado got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Bittencourt. The supporters of Flamengo do Cerrado booed when Titiarre SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Dé Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo do Cerrado's supporters rose to their feet, but Dé Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cafu Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Schmidt having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Válter Matorin to make the kick off. A collision led to Flamengo do Cerrado getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Mário Fernandez hit a great ball. Almir Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Matorin in the 52nd minute of play. One of Titiarre SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Flamengo do Cerrado:s goal. Franklin Lopes shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Titiarre SS's goalkeeper Rodolfo Schmidt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Afonsinho Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dé Prata in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodolfo Schmidt saved Titiarre SS from getting behind. Titiarre SS's Agnaldo Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 90 minutes of play, Flamengo do Cerrado's Cafu Alvarenga made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodolfo Schmidt was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Flamengo do Cerrado booed when Titiarre SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franklin Lopes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rodolfo Schmidt. Titiarre SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Flamengo do Cerrado's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
