Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Renato Corrêa started the match with the kick off. Silvinho Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evandro Souza in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvinho Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Silvinho Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Evandro Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renato Corrêa in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilson Bastos saved Jequitahy from getting behind. After having played for 17 minutes, Luiz Fábio Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapipoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fábio Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Jequitahy booed when Itapipoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Betão Figueiredo during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Itapipoca getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Betão Figueiredo hit a great ball. Gilson Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Silveira having to interfere. Jequitahy's Romário do Valle suffered a concussion after 25 minutes and had to leave the field. When Eliseu Sá fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapipoca's protests and gave Eliseu Sá a yellow card for diving instead. Evandro Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Silveira having to interfere. A collision led to Itapipoca getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Luiz Fábio Pinho hit a great ball. Nilson Bastos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fábio Pinho in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Evandro Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jequitahy's supporters rose to their feet, but Evandro Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvinho Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Evandro Souza made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Luiz Fábio Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Itapipoca's Luiz Fábio Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evandro Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Silveira having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Evandro Souza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jequitahy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Luiz Fábio Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renato Corrêa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilson Bastos having to make a save. A collision led to Itapipoca getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Betão Figueiredo hit a great ball. When Evandro Souza came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Jequitahy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Souza couldn't finish the play. Nilson Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Corrêa in the 83rd minute of the match. If Luiz Fábio Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jequitahy's Nilson Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Corrêa in the 90th minute of play. Evandro Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Silvinho Silveira made a huge save. If Renato Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fábio Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nilson Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Renato Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Nilson Bastos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapipoca.
