After some careless play in the Atlético Alagoano defense, Alfredão Bezerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulinho Trigo. The Atlético Alagoano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulinho Trigo should have stopped the shot. Manfredo Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Alcântara in the 11th minute of play. Claudinei Fontes ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Juremal's zone, Renato Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfredo Trancoso came out of the goal and Renato Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Renato Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Alagoano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renato Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Claudinei Fontes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paulinho Trigo, 2-0. Manfredo Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Alcântara in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juvenal Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfredão Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Juvenal Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Atlético Alagoano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juvenal Alcântara couldn't finish the play. After 60 played minutes Juremal got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Leite. In the 70th minute, one of Juremal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Juremal. The referee gave Atlético Alagoano a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wiliam Bastos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Juremal's Manfredo Trancoso. 2-2. Renato Araújo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Manfredo Trancoso made a huge save. Renato Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Manfredo Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulinho Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Fontes in the 80th minute of play. Renato Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Juremal's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Juvenal Alcântara 87 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Vianna during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfredo Vianna hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 97 minutes, the score became 2-4 when Renato Araújo sped through Juremal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Manfredo Trancoso. The Juremal fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Atlético Alagoano were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
