The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zacarias Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Jampruca SS's Zacarias Freitas got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Yuri Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the game, Walmyr Valladares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Dário Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gilmar Cordeiro made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Sidney Marquez sent off a good shot on target. Ademar Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Yuri Galvão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dário Velloso. Jampruca SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yuri Galvão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dário Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Hassim Kateua's Hermínio Proença quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vinícius Breckenfeld, made in the 26th minute of the game. In the 26th match minute, Jampruca SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cícero Tepedino to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Hassim Kateua's goal looked a bit too open when Nilmar Travassos came free, but Gilmar Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Yuri Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Hassim Kateua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yuri Galvão couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute, Zacarias Freitas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilmar Cordeiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nilmar Travassos made a kick off. The supporters of Hassim Kateua booed when Jampruca SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Negri scored 1-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dário Velloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 62 minutes of play, Hassim Kateua's Yuri Galvão made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dário Velloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 65 played minutes Jampruca SS got a freekick which was hit by Edvaldo Paraíba. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Meira got free with Dário Velloso in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Jampruca SS's zone, Ademar Negri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dário Velloso came out of the goal and Ademar Negri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Jampruca SS getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Zacarias Freitas hit a great ball. If Yuri Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Hassim Kateua getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Falcão Sá hit a great ball. Gilmar Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilmar Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jampruca SS were furious when Caio Vasconcelos was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jampruca SS! Dário Velloso went to the wrong direction when Michel Meira was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Hassim Kateua's Yuri Galvão in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jampruca SS's goalie prevented a goal. The Hassim Kateua supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hassim Kateua would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
