Adhemar de Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cícero Sarmento got free with Adhemar de Queiroz in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cícero Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Canabravao's Walmir Dionísio got a free kick in the 12th minute. Cícero Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Moisés Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cido Queirós having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Moisés Teixeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cido Queirós. Curralito's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moisés Teixeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Cido Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Cido Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walmir Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, Curralito's João Pedro Messias got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute of the match Dagoberto Tepedino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cido Queirós showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luiz Guilherme Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cido Queirós having to interfere. If Moisés Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes, Tiago Galvão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curralito and the Canabravao players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Curralito getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Tiago Galvão hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th minute, Cícero Sarmento had to leave the field with a concussion. Paulo Messias charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Messias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Canabravao's Paulo Messias got a free kick in the 54th minute. A collision led to Curralito getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Elano Bezerra hit a great ball. In the 59th minute, Moisés Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Moisés Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Luiz Guilherme Tepedino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cido Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 72 minutes into the match, Curralito's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Teixeira came free, but Cido Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Curralito's zone, Luiz Guilherme Tepedino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cido Queirós came out of the goal and Luiz Guilherme Tepedino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Teixeira in the 90th minute of play forced Curralito's goalkeeper Cido Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Curralito's Cido Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Teixeira in the 94th minute of play. If Luiz Guilherme Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Canabravao could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Curralito throughout the match.
