After having played for 18 minutes, Vicente Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derrubada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Parijos's goalkeeper Tião Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vinícius Azevedo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Salgado in the 24th minute of play forced Parijos's goalkeeper Tião Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tião Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cesinha Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luís Ribeiro having to interfere. If Reinaldo de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Renato Fontes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Renato Fontes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tião Costa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pedro Luís Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Vicente Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luís Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesinha Brodel in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Parijos's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Fontes came free, but Tião Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Cesinha Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cesinha Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Parijos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cesinha Brodel couldn't finish the play. Renato Fontes hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Parijos's zone, Vicente Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tião Costa came out of the goal and Vicente Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tião Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renato Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute Armando Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vicente Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Parijos were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
