The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Itaporanga EC got a freekick which was hit by Custódio Figueiredo. After recieving a nice pass, Rodzada FC's Ernani Donato tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Renatinho Gaspar came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Itaporanga EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Gaspar couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Rodzada FC's Diguinho Rocha got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th match minute, Rodzada FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Amorim to maneuver through the defense. A hard and well directed shot from Edinho Fontes led 14 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Rodzada FC's Hermínio Sarmento became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. Aleandro Favoretto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diguinho Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Itaporanga EC's Aleandro Favoretto got control of the ball when Luisão Quirino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aleandro Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diguinho Carneiro in the 20th minute of play. After having played for 54 minutes, Frank Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itaporanga EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58thth minute of the game Luisão Quirino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaporanga EC's Aleandro Favoretto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Renatinho Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Itaporanga EC's Waldir Valladares got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Renatinho Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaporanga EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Renatinho Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermínio Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diguinho Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aleandro Favoretto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Cristiano Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristiano Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Itaporanga EC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Rodzada FC's Hermínio Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Rodzada FC from getting a goal against them. Diguinho Carneiro struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Aleandro Favoretto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rodzada FC. Renatinho Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Sarmento having to interfere. Rodzada FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Renatinho Gaspar 95 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. Itaporanga EC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
