Belmiro Medeiros started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Ruy Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egídio Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Medeiros in the 4th minute of play. If Sydney Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Azambuja FC's Belmiro Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laércio Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Quintal having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Tupancireta's Cléberson Amorim got a free kick in the 10th minute. The supporters of Azambuja FC booed when Tupancireta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Belmiro Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th match minute, Tupancireta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Leme to maneuver through the defense. When Azambuja FC's Belmiro Medeiros in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tupancireta's goalie prevented a goal. Egídio Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Egídio Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tupancireta's Egídio Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Tupancireta from getting a goal against them. Cléberson Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvério Cardozo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Laércio Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Quintal having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Tupancireta's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Medeiros came free, but Egídio Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Azambuja FC's Belmiro Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egídio Quintal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Délio Britto to make the kick off. Álvaro do Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Silvério Cardozo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from César Hermes. Jaime Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Tupancireta's Délio Britto got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th match minute, Azambuja FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro do Valle to maneuver through the defense. If Délio Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egídio Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Medeiros in the 84th minute of play. With a little luck, Azambuja FC's Silvério Cardozo got control of the ball when Sydney Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
