The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dracarys's Vladimir Sladkov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amauri Linares in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Olavo Félix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Sladkov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Olavo Félix had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimir Sladkov. Dracarys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olavo Félix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Marcus de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. José Carlos Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Carlos Brodel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vladimir Sladkov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amauri Linares went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 30th minute, Taiacu AD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marcus de Castro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Olavo Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 36 minutes, Olavo Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taiacu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 38 minutes, Ulysses Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taiacu AD and the Dracarys players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Dracarys booed when Taiacu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulysses Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marcus de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amauri Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir Sladkov having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olavo Félix was the one to do the kick off. Olavo Félix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amauri Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus de Castro's late challenge caught a Taiacu AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcus de Castro helped the player get up and apologised. Luan de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Luan de Souza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Carlos Brodel was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Marcus de Castro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Carlos Brodel having to make a save. Marcus de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Brodel having to interfere. Marcus de Castro took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Carlos Brodel. José Carlos Brodel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luan de Souza in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Carlos Brodel saved Taiacu AD from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Dracarys's 魏正邦 got a free kick in the 88th minute.
