The referee ignored Febre de bola FC's protests and gave Severino Nóbrega a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Alvacao booed when Febre de bola FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute Juninho Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th match minute, Febre de bola FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. If Augusto Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Febre de bola FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Guerra came free, but Severino Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, João Paulo Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 20 minutes, Juninho Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alvacao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juninho Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juninho Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Severino Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juninho Batista hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Febre de bola FC's Severino Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Batista in the 34th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Alvacao got a freekick which was hit by Vágner Travassos. Cláudio Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Quintal having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Batista in the 43rd minute of play forced Febre de bola FC's goalkeeper Severino Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juninho Batista in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severino Quintal saved Febre de bola FC from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Juninho Batista made the kick off in the second half. Reginaldo Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tiaguinho da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvacao's Tiaguinho da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Garcia in the 57th minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, one of Febre de bola FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 67 minutes, Alvacao's Kléber Prado got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Severino Quintal. Juninho Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Quintal having to interfere. If Juninho Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
