Diamantino Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. José Pedro Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sericita's José Pedro Brodel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Catarinense in the 7th minute of play. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Diamantino Arruda sped through Sericita's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of José Pedro Brodel. Diamantino Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseu Ramos during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th match minute, Sericita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu Ramos to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Catarinense in the 17th minute of play forced Sericita's goalkeeper José Pedro Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Tambores was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Koehler to maneuver through the defense. If Diamantino Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tambores getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Arí Cavalcante hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Tambores's Alessandro Vale got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 33 played minutes Raimundo Vergílio shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Tambores's Acácio Prata to catch but Raimundo Vergílio was lucky. It became 1-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. José Pedro Brodel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Eliseu Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arí Cavalcante took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Pedro Brodel. Sericita's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 40th minute, Diamantino Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aírton Zilles during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Diamantino Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Alessandro Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute, Dedé da Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dito Rossi made a kick off. Arnaldo Catarinense struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. José Pedro Brodel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tambores. With a little luck, Sericita's José Pedro Brodel got control of the ball when Diamantino Arruda tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Pedro Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaldo Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Arnaldo Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 played minutes Sericita got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Zilles. In the 66th minute, Diamantino Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Catarinense in the 68th minute of play forced Sericita's goalkeeper José Pedro Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Arruda scored 1-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Pedro Brodel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Tambores's zone, Raimundo Vergílio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Acácio Prata came out of the goal and Raimundo Vergílio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute, Dedé da Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sericita's Eliseu Ramos got his second yellow card of the match in the 83rd minute. The referee ordered Eliseu Ramos off the ground. Tambores's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arí Cavalcante in the 87th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sericita's goalie and right to Manuel Batista. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sericita's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Arnaldo Catarinenses short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got José Pedro Brodel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Tambores booed when Sericita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedé da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diamantino Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Brodel having to interfere. Inácio Montenegro's late challenge caught a Tambores's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. Inácio Montenegro hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. In the 99th match minute, Sericita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. The Sericita fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tambores were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
