The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Dudu Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Vitório Alagoano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Tiago Gabriel Souto made a huge save. When Ernani Chaves fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pium SS's protests and gave Ernani Chaves a yellow card for diving instead. Ernani Chaves kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Tadeu Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Décio Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vágner do Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

51 minutes into the game, Anselmo Peres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pium SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra the free kick. Anselmo Peres hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After having played for 54 minutes, Tadeu Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Netto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vágner do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Gabriel Souto having to interfere. If Vitório Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vágner do Valle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiago Gabriel Souto having to make a save. The supporters of Palestra booed when Pium SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitório Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Dudu Barbosa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Décio Favoretto, passed just outside the right post. With a little luck, Pium SS's Décio Favoretto got control of the ball when Tadeu Netto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Walmir Berger hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
