He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 8 played minutes Cassete Verde Futebol Clu got a freekick which was hit by Simão Dantas. Hudson Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Benjamim Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamim Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Evandro Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Montenegro having to interfere. Wilson Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Montenegro having to interfere. In the 48th minute Luiz Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Morais AD's zone, Hudson Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamim Luz came out of the goal and Hudson Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hudson Berger came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Cassete Verde Futebol Clu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hudson Berger couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evandro Carvalho in the 64th minute of play forced Cassete Verde Futebol Clu's goalkeeper Flavinho Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evandro Carvalho in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavinho Montenegro saved Cassete Verde Futebol Clu from getting behind. If Hudson Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Montenegro having to interfere. Morais AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilson Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavinho Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Cassete Verde Futebol Clu supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cassete Verde Futebol Clu would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
