Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) After 2 played minutes Burrego got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Corrêa. After a defensive mix-up in Burrego's zone, Mazinho Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Garcia came out of the goal and Mazinho Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clóvis de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Washington Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pinare's Tony Eger got a free kick in the 13th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Clóvis de Lara recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Washington Simão. Clóvis de Lara showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After 24 minutes of play, Burrego's Ismael Viana made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Washington Simão was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mazinho Branco's late challenge caught a Burrego's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mazinho Branco helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Burrego booed when Pinare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Washington Simão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clóvis de Lara's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Washington Simão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ismael Viana in the 33rd minute. Clóvis de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clóvis de Lara in the 38th minute of play forced Pinare's goalkeeper Washington Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Clóvis de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burrego's supporters rose to their feet, but Clóvis de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Washington Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Washington Simão managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Burrego's Ismael Viana fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ismael Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Washington Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
The wind increased when Clóvis de Lara made the kick off in the second half. Washington Simão came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Burrego's Eliézer Melo. But to his dismay, Eliézer Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pinare's goalkeeper Washington Simão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Burrego's Ismael Viana in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pinare's goalie prevented a goal. Ismael Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Simão having to interfere. When Mazinho Branco came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Pinare fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mazinho Branco couldn't finish the play. Clóvis de Lara took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Washington Simão. Washington Simão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After a rather tough play, Pinare's Rubinho Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If Ismael Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Clóvis de Lara made a precise shot to the right of Washington Simão. Pinare's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Pinare's Washington Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis de Lara in the 93rd minute of play. Clóvis de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Burrego walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
