Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rodrigo Cearense started the match with the kick off. When Simão Simão fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Andes's protests and gave Simão Simão a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Capitaozinho booed when Andes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Acácio Magalhães fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Andes's protests and gave Acácio Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Andes got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Magalhães. Glauco Andrade succeeded in the game's 8th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Rodrigo Cearense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dudu Quintal. That made the score 1-1 in the 11 minute of play. Rodrigo Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Quintal having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Acácio Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raí Trigo, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Edgar Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Leite having to interfere. Ivo Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Dudu Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Andes. If Ivo Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dudu Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capitaozinho's goalkeeper Dudu Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivo Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Rodrigo Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgar Veiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Henrique Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Glauco Andrade in the 52nd minute. When Rodrigo Cearense came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Andes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Cearense couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivo Barbosa in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dudu Quintal saved Capitaozinho from getting behind. In the 62nd minute, Edgar Veiga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Henrique Leite. The goal made the score 1-2. If Edgar Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glauco Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Henrique Leite made a huge save. In the 69th match minute, Andes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durvalino Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dudu Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reinaldo Goiano hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When Rodrigo Cearense came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Andes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Cearense couldn't finish the play. Dudu Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raí Trigo hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute of the match Andes got a corner. Capitaozinho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Didi de Salles ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ivo Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 91 minutes, Rodrigo Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Andes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Rodrigo Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Andes's Rodrigo Cearense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dudu Quintal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Capitaozinho eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
