Elias Matorin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Vieira in the 14th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Luisinho Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pizunha SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisinho Torres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Matorin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elias Matorin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédson Gonçalves in the 22nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Frédson Gonçalves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elias Matorin was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Luisinho Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Matorin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. In the 48th minute, João Francisco Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Pizunha SC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frédson Gonçalves to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, João Francisco Mineiro notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Pizunha SC's Cícero Tavares. Cícero Tavares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frédson Gonçalves in the 57th minute of play forced Sampaio Corrêa FC. Pizunha SC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
