The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Darcilandia got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto de Amorim. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurinho Amorim in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donatello Reis saved Darcilandia from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Maurinho Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donatello Reis was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. When Darcilandia's Cássio Paulista in 13 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Francisco Rezende guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In a very dangerous position, a player in Darcilandia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Sport Dornelas a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Benê Cabral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Darcilandia's Donatello Reis. 0-1. Donatello Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fellipe Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 21 minutes into the game, Patrício Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Darcilandia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sport Dornelas the free kick. A collision led to Darcilandia getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Patrício Reis hit a great ball. In the 28thth minute of the game Maurinho Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Darcilandia's Donatello Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Fiori Corrêa fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Dornelas's protests and gave Fiori Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30thth minute of the game Cássio Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Dornelas's Francisco Rezende was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Sport Dornelas's Fellipe Borges sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donatello Reis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maurinho Amorim struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Donatello Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Dornelas. 37 minutes into the match, Sport Dornelas's goalkeeper Francisco Rezende had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristiano Amaral. After 38 played minutes Sport Dornelas got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Paulista. Benê Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sport Dornelas! In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Darcilandia. Cássio Pinho stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Francisco Rezende. 1-1.

Donatello Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurinho Amorim in the 55th minute of play. Cássio Paulista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisco Rezende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Maurinho Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Sport Dornelas getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Fellipe Borges hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Cássio Paulista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Rezende was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Darcilandia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Maurinho Amorim 70 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. Sport Dornelas's Maurinho Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fellipe Borges came free with the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Donatello Reis could save by the left post. 85 minutes into the game, Mauro Vinhas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Dornelas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Darcilandia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sport Dornelas's Mauro Vinhas got a free kick in the 85th minute. Donatello Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Amorim in the 89th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Darcilandia's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Amorim came free, but Donatello Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Cássio Paulista made a precise shot to the right of Francisco Rezende. Sport Dornelas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
