In the 12th minute, Ivo Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 14 minutes, Vágner Perez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Riachuello and the Batatas AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, one of Riachuello:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Riachuello. When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, Batatas AD's Narciso Paiva got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sidnei Dionísio. Narciso Paiva in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sidnei Dionísio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Narciso Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidnei Dionísio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Paiva in the 25th minute of play. Antonio Santo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. Batatas AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Narciso Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Batatas AD's Antonio Santo in the 34th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Sidnei Dionísio was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Riachuello through an amazing save. Narciso Paiva in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sidnei Dionísio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sidnei Dionísio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Paiva in the 42nd minute of play. Antonio Santo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Sidnei Dionísio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodrigo Loureiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Riachuello's Sidnei Dionísio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Santo in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Narciso Paiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Batatas AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Sidnei Dionísio came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Batatas AD's Narciso Paiva. But to his dismay, Narciso Paiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The audience was convinced that Antonio Santo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sidnei Dionísio was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Vágner Perez made in the 78th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Batatas AD's Gerson Berger. When Batatas AD's Narciso Paiva in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Batatas AD's Antonio Santo got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Narciso Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Narciso Paiva made a precise shot to the right of Sidnei Dionísio. Riachuello's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Batatas AD fully deserved thier win.
