The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ricardo Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Yan de Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 7th play minutes Percival Correia shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Yan de Queirós and just under the crossbar into goal. 15 minutes into the match, Edvaldo Baiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benjamim Vaz. Bananas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edvaldo Baiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edvaldo Baiano in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamim Vaz saved Bananas from getting behind. Dorian Salles's late challenge caught a Travessa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorian Salles helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th minute, Edvaldo Baiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamim Vaz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Benjamim Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 45 minutes, Betão Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Travessa FC and the Bananas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Travessa FC's Betão Marques got a free kick in the 46th minute. Albertinho de Toledo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Yan de Queirós when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Percival Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Edvaldo Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Travessa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvaldo Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamim Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute Percival Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yan de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yan de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertinho de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bananas fully deserved thier win.
