The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benê Leão during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benê Leão was shown his second yellow card after 6 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 8th match minute, Juliao SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. When Tulu FC's Ricardo Norino in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Juliao SC's goalie prevented a goal. Gilmar Moura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clóvis de Senna in the 20th minute of play. Tiago Gabriel de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tiago Gabriel de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Deivid Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Favoretto having to interfere. Gilmar Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Norino, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Juliao SC's zone, Ricardo Norino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilmar Moura came out of the goal and Ricardo Norino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fellipe Meira hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 31 played minutes, Tulu FC's August Lund shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gilmar Moura came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tulu FC reached it. In the 33rd minute, Ricardo Norino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilmar Moura was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Gilmar Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Norino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the game, Clóvis de Senna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gilmar Moura was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deivid Costa was the one to do the kick off. Juliao SC's Gilmar Moura proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Juliao SC from getting a goal against them. Tulu FC's Benjamim Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deivid Costa in the 55th minute of play. When Tulu FC's Clóvis de Senna in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Juliao SC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 58th minute, Deivid Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 60 minutes, Ricardo Norino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tulu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Norino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for Tulu FC. August Lund stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gilmar Moura. 0-3. Clóvis de Senna's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Gilmar Moura skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Clóvis de Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilmar Moura having to make a save. Tulu FC's Glauco Veiga managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Natanael Pimenta in the 87 minute of the game. If Clóvis de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Gilmar Moura managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Tulu FC's Clóvis de Senna fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 96th minute, Juliao SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ricardo Norino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the final whistle sounded Tulu FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Juliao SC.
