Donatello Nóbrega charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donatello Nóbrega the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Vilajoia SS's Donatello Nóbrega got a free kick in the 5th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Vilajoia SS's Wellington Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luizinho Mesquita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luizinho Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Faustino, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Hamílton Miranda put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Havana Club fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! Luizinho Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Garcia in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute Hélder Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kauã Breckenfeld made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Dalmo Gaúcho sent off a good shot on target. Dráusio Pernambucano came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kauã Breckenfeld could save by the left post. Ramiro Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dráusio Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Luizinho Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kauã Breckenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Paulão Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Paulão Bittencourt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dalmo Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Kauã Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulão Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Kauã Breckenfeld didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Havana Club. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hélder Garcia was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Havana Club's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Garcia came free, but Luizinho Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute Hélder Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fábio Figueiredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luizinho Mesquita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Figueiredo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Garcia in the 59th minute of play forced Havana Club's goalkeeper Luizinho Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute Abelardo da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute, Paulão Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute of the match Clemente Nunes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luizinho Mesquita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Vilajoia SS's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio Pernambucano came free, but Kauã Breckenfeld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kauã Breckenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmo Gaúcho, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. A collision led to Havana Club getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Paulão Bittencourt hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Clemente Nunes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luizinho Mesquita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luizinho Mesquita was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Hélder Garcia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hélder Garcia really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Dalmo Gaúcho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Havana Club booed when Vilajoia SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Paulão Bittencourt came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Havana Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulão Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute, Dalmo Gaúcho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kauã Breckenfeld was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Kauã Breckenfeld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráusio Pernambucano in the 88th minute of play. Havana Club's Luizinho Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Garcia in the 90th minute of play. Luizinho Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Havana Club's Luizinho Mesquita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Havana Club from getting a goal against them. If Paulão Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
