Jerônimo de Castro struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Oscar Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tabaco SC. 10 minutes into the match, Tabaco SC's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Carioca came free, but Abelardo Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrianinho Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Pinheiro having to interfere. Jerônimo de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerônimo de Castro's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Adrianinho Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curatis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrianinho Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Carlos Fernando Trigo hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Evaristo Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Abelardo Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo de Castro in the 56th minute of play forced Curatis's goalkeeper Oscar Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cícero Aguiar hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Pedrão Cardozo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oscar Porto having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Curatis's Otávio Loyola got a free kick in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Tabaco SC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Thiago Loyola hit a great ball. Evaristo Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Pinheiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Tabaco SC's Thiago Loyola got a free kick in the 68th minute. If Adrianinho Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Egídio Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Curatis booed when Tabaco SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tabaco SC's zone, Evaristo Carioca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Pinheiro came out of the goal and Evaristo Carioca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cícero Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Pinheiro having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Gugu Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curatis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tabaco SC the free kick. Gugu Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Marco Peixoto sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Curatis's Oscar Porto didn't even have to move.
