Lenílson Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Moreira in the 11th minute of play. In the 15th minute Claudinei Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenílson Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Iosif Unciuleanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavinho Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando de Brito in the 23rd minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Curitiba BlackStars's Iosif Unciuleanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavinho Paes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Curitiba BlackStars's Lenílson Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Moreira in the 31st minute of play. After 35 played minutes Coataquara AD got a freekick which was hit by Nando Mendonça. Curitiba BlackStars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coataquara AD the free kick. After a rather tough play, Curitiba BlackStars's Ermis Vaitsis got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando de Brito in the 64th minute of play forced Coataquara AD's goalkeeper Flavinho Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Coataquara AD's Claudinei Arce suffered a concussion in the 65th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 65 minutes, Edmílson Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curitiba BlackStars and the Coataquara AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee showed Antônio Carlos Moreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
