The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oséias Freitas during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sílvio Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Elivélton Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Betinho Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Sílvio Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sodre SS's Luís Paulo Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sodre SS's Sílvio Soeiro in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moraes FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Jardel Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sodre SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Jardel Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elivélton Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Moraes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Simões came free, but Elivélton Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sílvio Soeiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Jardel Arruda struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Elivélton Torres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sodre SS. When Sodre SS's Sílvio Soeiro in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moraes FC's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Moraes FC's Elivélton Torres got control of the ball when Jardel Arruda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Moraes FC's Elivélton Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Soeiro in the 61st minute of play. After some careless play in the Moraes FC defense, Jardel Arruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elivélton Torres. The Moraes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elivélton Torres should have stopped the shot. If Jardel Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 73 minutes, Sílvio Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sodre SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Soeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Moraes FC's Betinho Paulista got a free kick in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Sodre SS's Délio Tande broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Moraes FC's Elivélton Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jardel Arruda in the 88th minute of play. When the match was over Sodre SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Moraes FC throughout the match.
