Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cleiton Dante started the match with the kick off. Samphyion FC's Mauro Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleiton Dante in the 3rd minute of play. Marcelinho Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cleiton Dante came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Panico FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleiton Dante couldn't finish the play. In the 18th match minute, Panico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Brasil to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Samphyion FC's Teobald Penczkowski broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 22nd minute Marco Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Samphyion FC booed when Panico FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Teobald Penczkowski came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Samphyion FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teobald Penczkowski couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute Marco Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Prestes in the 39th minute of the match. If Reynaldo Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelinho Gerber's late challenge caught a Panico FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelinho Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Samphyion FC's Marcelinho Gerber got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute of the match Emerson Brasil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauro Lira skillfully saved the ball. Mauro Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleiton Dante in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Edu de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Lira having to interfere. Cleiton Dante might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauro Lira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cleiton Dante ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Samphyion FC's Mauro Lira got control of the ball when Reynaldo Batista tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Panico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Souza to maneuver through the defense. After 63 played minutes Samphyion FC got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Mattos. Marcelinho Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fred Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Lira having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Cleiton Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauro Lira was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Panico FC's Fred Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Samphyion FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Prestes came free, but Mauro Lira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauro Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. When Samphyion FC's Gino Xavier in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panico FC's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Panico FC's Pedro Paulo Vieira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mauro Lira. That made the score 0-1 after 79 minutes of play. In the 83rd match minute, Samphyion FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emerson Mattos to maneuver through the defense. Mauro Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Prestes in the 84th minute of the match. When Fred Souza came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Panico FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Souza couldn't finish the play. Marco Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Mauro Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Fred Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Samphyion FC's goalkeeper Mauro Lira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cleiton Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Cleiton Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauro Lira was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. When the match was over Panico FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Samphyion FC throughout the match.
