Edson Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelinho Gerber struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Edson Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Samphyion FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino Xavier in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edson Dantas saved Itaperucu from getting behind. After 9 played minutes Samphyion FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Gerber. In the 10th minute of the match Elias Maranhense shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauro Lira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Itaperucu defense, Gino Xavier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edson Dantas. The Itaperucu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edson Dantas should have stopped the shot. Josip Beuß kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 22 minutes in the game, Gino Xavier fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Edson Dantas having to interfere. If Marcelinho Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Gino Xavier got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Marquinhos Abreu hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Xavier in the 32nd minute of play forced Itaperucu's goalkeeper Edson Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lenílson de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itaperucu's goalkeeper Edson Dantas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mauro Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murilo Madureira in the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Gino Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edson Dantas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelinho Gerber in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guga Leal to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Guga Leal made a precise shot to the right of Mauro Lira. Samphyion FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Marquinhos Abreu hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Mauro Lira made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Murilo Madureira sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Murilo Madureira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauro Lira was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Mauro Lira was a little too slow when Murilo Madureira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 69th match minute, Samphyion FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Reis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Abreu in the 71st minute of play forced Samphyion FC's goalkeeper Mauro Lira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 72 played minutes Itaperucu got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos Abreu. Gino Xavier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Itaperucu booed when Samphyion FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobald Penczkowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Itaperucu defense, Marcelinho Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edson Dantas. The Itaperucu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edson Dantas should have stopped the shot. Itaperucu's Edson Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino Xavier in the 85th minute of play. Edson Dantas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Xavier in the 87th minute of the match. Jânio Santana hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. When Samphyion FC's Gino Xavier in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Itaperucu's goalie prevented a goal. 96 minutes into the game, Samphyion FC's Marcelinho Gerber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edson Dantas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2.
