With a little luck, Piarore's Adrianinho Vides got control of the ball when Ronaldão Saldanha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronaldão Saldanha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Adrianinho Vides firmly grabbed it by the left post. Durval Massa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrianinho Vides read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Adrianinho Vides made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldão Saldanha in the 19th minute. Ronaldão Saldanha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Adrianinho Vides skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Leonardo Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Piarore booed when Crauna SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Durval Massa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronaldão Saldanha struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Adrianinho Vides didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crauna SS. After having played for 48 minutes, Ronaldão Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crauna SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldão Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Durval Massa made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piarore's goalkeeper Adrianinho Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Crauna SS's Luiz Guilherme Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Crauna SS from getting a goal against them. Leonardo Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Guilherme Bastos having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Bernardinho Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piarore's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardinho Goiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Guilherme Bastos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piarore fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! In the 68th minute Durval Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Luiz Guilherme Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldão Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho Vides having to interfere. When Durval Massa came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Crauna SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durval Massa couldn't finish the play. If Ronaldão Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ronaldão Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Crauna SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldão Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Durval Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Durval Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crauna SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrianinho Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 98th minute Durval Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Piarore were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Crauna SS side.
