Nick Shipp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the match, Alfenense Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Peres came free, but Nick Shipp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arí Peres took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nick Shipp. Nick Shipp dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Telmo Goiano made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Arce in the 55th minute of play forced Alfenense Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Nick Shipp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 minutes, Orlando Bastos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alfenense Esporte Clube and the Canavial players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Canavial booed when Alfenense Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Arí Peres fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canavial's protests and gave Arí Peres a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, Canavial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arí Peres to maneuver through the defense. Biagio Scrima hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute of the match, Arí Peres got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nick Shipp was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sílvio Luís Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After 87 played minutes Alfenense Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Raí Mota. Telmo Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Gustavo Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Canavial players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
