Benê Mineiros short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Dito Viana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Macinha SS's Cléberson Barral got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Macinha SS's Dito Viana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Macinha SS from getting a goal against them. Benê Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Dito Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Didi das Neves fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colonia SC's protests and gave Didi das Neves a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Colonia SC got a freekick which was hit by Didi das Neves. Nilton Hoffmann kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Dito Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal de Queirós in the 23rd minute of play forced Macinha SS's goalkeeper Dito Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the game, Colonia SC's Benê Mineiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dito Viana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Cléberson Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 39th minute Cléberson Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aníbal de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dito Viana having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aníbal de Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benê Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Messias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Josué Veiga made a huge save. Benê Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dito Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 79 minutes, Cléberson Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macinha SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléberson Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gil Matos hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aníbal de Queirós in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dito Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aníbal de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dito Viana having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Barral in the 98th minute of play forced Colonia SC's goalkeeper Josué Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
