A collision led to Uriporanga SC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Gilberto Hermes hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Sidney Pinheiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Pedro Rosado was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidney Pinheiro in the 15th minute of play forced Melancia FC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Carlos Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Zé Pedro Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 21 minutes, João Carlos Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uriporanga SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Carlos Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Pedro Rosado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidney Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Vítor Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Faustino, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the Uriporanga SC defense, Luiz Fernando Faustino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Vítor Bastos. The Uriporanga SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Vítor Bastos should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the game, one of Uriporanga SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Melancia FC a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristian Passos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Uriporanga SC's José Vítor Bastos. 0-2. The Uriporanga SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Melancia FC were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Sidney Pinheiro made the kick off in the second half. Zé Pedro Rosado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidney Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Sidney Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute of the match Ezequiel Gaúcho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Vítor Bastos skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 63 minutes, Luiz Fernando Faustino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melancia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Faustino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernardinho Vale charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardinho Vale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernardinho Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. If Luiz Fernando Faustino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Uriporanga SC got a freekick which was hit by Agostinho de Salles. In the 71st minute, Luiz Fernando Faustino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Vítor Bastos. The goal made the score 0-3. Elano Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. José Vítor Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardinho Vale hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Luiz Fernando Faustino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th match minute, Melancia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nildo de Senna to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Melancia FC's zone, Clóvis Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Pedro Rosado came out of the goal and Clóvis Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, João Carlos Linhares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Pedro Rosado was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. João Carlos Linhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Pedro Rosado having to make a save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Melancia FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
