Válter Zanette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Paulo Loyola's late challenge caught a ATOMOS FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Paulo Loyola helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Marreiros EC's José Paulo Loyola got a free kick in the 5th minute. Didi Carioca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válter Zanette's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. If Valdo Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aníbal Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernani Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Manfredo Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aníbal Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aníbal Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdo Queiroz in the 35th minute of the match. José Paulo Loyola hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Manfredo Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Aníbal Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aníbal Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Queiroz in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Válter Zanette was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, ATOMOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Rosado came free, but Didi Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válter Zanette in the 54th minute of play forced ATOMOS FC's goalkeeper Didi Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geovanni Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Didi Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes, Ernani Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ATOMOS FC and the Marreiros EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Ernani Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Válter Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Manfredo Pena came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Aníbal Zonta could save by the left post. In the 76th of the match, Valdo Queiroz tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Aníbal Zonta got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 77th minute, Valdo Queiroz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aníbal Zonta. The goal made the score 0-1. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Geovanni Rosado put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Didi Carioca. With a little luck, Marreiros EC's Aníbal Zonta got control of the ball when Manfredo Pena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manfredo Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Aníbal Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdo Queiroz in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aníbal Zonta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The nice shot from Manfredo Pena in the 97thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Aníbal Zonta had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. ATOMOS FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Marreiros EC to leave the ground with a draw.
