Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Válter Zanette started the match with the kick off. In the 8th minute, Marreiros EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cássio de Amaral fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Adalberto Campidelis charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adalberto Campidelis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Patos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Marreiros EC:s goal. The referee gave Marreiros EC a penalty, 19 minutes into the game. Geovanni Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Cássio de Amaral kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aníbal Zonta. That made the score 3-1 in the 31 minute of play. After some careless play in the Patos defense, Válter Zanette kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vitório Albuquerque. The Patos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vitório Albuquerque should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the game, Dida Meirelles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Patos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marreiros EC the free kick. Dida Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Marreiros EC's goalkeeper Aníbal Zonta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomé Queiroz. Tomé Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Zonta having to interfere. Aníbal Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio de Amaral in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cássio de Amaral made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Marreiros EC's José Paulo Loyola got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When Tomé Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Patos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomé Queiroz couldn't finish the play. Cássio de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Aníbal Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cássio de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomé Queiroz in the 66th minute of play forced Marreiros EC's goalkeeper Aníbal Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Marreiros EC's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio de Amaral came free, but Aníbal Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 79 played minutes Patos got a freekick which was hit by Dida Meirelles. Aníbal Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomé Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Zonta having to interfere. Aníbal Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomé Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Tomé Queiroz scored 4-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aníbal Zonta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 94 minutes into the game, Rafa Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Patos fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marreiros EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
