Anísio Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Giovanni Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Odono. In the 9th minute, Anísio Ribeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Odono fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Anísio Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 minutes of play, Odono's Anísio Ribeiro made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giovanni Reis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Serginho Leal hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Osmar Rezende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Gilson Ortiz made a huge save. Anísio Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Giovanni Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Odono. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dida Ceresso in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giovanni Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Anísio Ribeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Odono fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. If Serginho Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Serginho Leal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giovanni Reis was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Giovanni Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nildo Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osmar Rezende made a kick off. The supporters of Odono booed when Ameliopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osmar Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute of the match Odono got a corner. Ameliopolis's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dida Ceresso ran over to the corner to take the kick. Serginho Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Reis having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ameliopolis's zone, Serginho Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Reis came out of the goal and Serginho Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giovanni Reis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anísio Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. The supporters of Odono booed when Ameliopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serginho Leal got free with Giovanni Reis in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Giovanni Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida Ceresso in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Ameliopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Serginho Leal came free, but Giovanni Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nildo Domingues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dida Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serginho Leal in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giovanni Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Giovanni Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dida Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanni Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Serginho Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anísio Ribeiro in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Giovanni Reis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida Ceresso in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovanni Reis saved Ameliopolis from getting behind. Dráusio Marques scored 1-3 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilson Ortiz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Odono defense, Osmar Rezende kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilson Ortiz. The Odono fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilson Ortiz should have stopped the shot. When the match was over Odono could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ameliopolis throughout the match.
