Albertinho de Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vladimir Mendes went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Ramón de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Digo do Vale having to interfere. If Vladimir Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Ramón de Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Digo do Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Arlindo Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jacarecica's Arlindo Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Avai CS's goalkeeper Albertinho de Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Avai CS players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
