The audience thought a goal was coming when Dedé Tepedino got free with Laércio Pimenta in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Genílson Netto during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Genílson Netto hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the game, César Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sapato's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Potreirito the free kick. 21 minutes into the match, Durval Palmeira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Laércio Pimenta, 1-0. Durval Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Laércio Pimenta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Palmeira in the 25th minute of play forced Potreirito's goalkeeper Laércio Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laércio Pimenta made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Dedé Tepedino sent off a good shot on target. Dedé Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio Pimenta having to interfere. Dedé Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Laércio Pimenta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Palmeira in the 44th minute of play forced Potreirito's goalkeeper Laércio Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tadeu Sarmento made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Dorian Custódio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sapato's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Potreirito the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, Sapato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Custódio to maneuver through the defense. If Sandro da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessandro Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeu Sarmento in the 65th minute of the match. Sandro da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Bertassi having to interfere. Cícero Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the match, Sapato's goalkeeper Alessandro Bertassi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandro da Mata. Alessandro Bertassi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandro da Mata in the 75th minute. Genílson Netto got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Genílson Netto hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Diogo Antunes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sapato's Alessandro Bertassi didn't even have to move. Potreirito's Laércio Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedé Tepedino in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Cícero Lira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potreirito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sapato the free kick. After 88 played minutes Potreirito got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Lira. A collision led to Potreirito getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Kiko Messias hit a great ball. In the 95th minute Dedé Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Pimenta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Potreirito's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
