A beautiful save bye Tapecu's goalie prevented a goal. 10 minutes into the game, Manoel Botelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. David Cosme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 18th minute Manoel Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Tapecu's goal looked a bit too open when Manoel Botelho came free, but David Cosme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orlando Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fellipe Luz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orlando Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. If Orlando Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Paulo Renato Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. David Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tapecu's David Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Baptista in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Moisés Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Manoel Botelho struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. David Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Muriquioca FC. David Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilian Tavares in the 38th minute of play. David Cosme came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Muriquioca FC's Manoel Botelho. But to his dismay, Manoel Botelho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Moisés Baptista took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Cosme. David Cosme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orlando Abreu was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Muriquioca FC's Manoel Botelho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of David Cosme. That made the score 0-4 after 60 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tapecu's zone, Moisés Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Cosme came out of the goal and Moisés Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Muriquioca FC's Manoel Botelho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of David Cosme. That made the score 0-5 after 64 minutes of play. David Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Manoel Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manoel Botelho in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Cosme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Tapecu's Orlando Abreu got a free kick in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian Tavares in the 86th minute of play forced Tapecu's goalkeeper David Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 91 minutes, Paulo Renato Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tapecu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Renato Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Muriquioca FC getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Wilian Tavares hit a great ball. The Muriquioca FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Muriquioca FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
