Jorginho Marinho started the match with the kick off. With 4 minutes on the clock, Valério Brito commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 4th minute, one of Fidelo EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fidelo EC. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for FOI MAL. Jorginho Marinho stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Genílson Fontes. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertinho de Amorim got free with Waldir Veloso in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Nunes charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Nunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alberto Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorginho Marinho in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Genílson Fontes saved Fidelo EC from getting behind. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Nunes in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Waldir Veloso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a little luck, FOI MAL's Waldir Veloso got control of the ball when Albertinho de Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jorginho Marinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genílson Fontes was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. After 43 minutes of play, Fidelo EC's Alberto Nunes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldir Veloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberto Nunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Alberto Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fidelo EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 56 played minutes, Fidelo EC's Raí Meireles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Waldir Veloso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fidelo EC reached it. Diogo Tande's late challenge caught a Fidelo EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diogo Tande helped the player get up and apologised. Diogo Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. If Albertinho de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
