Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Túlio Paraíba started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Túlio Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gurjao's supporters rose to their feet, but Túlio Paraíba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gildo Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 5 minutes into the game, Agnaldo Veloso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vânderson Pimenta. Agnaldo Veloso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Vânderson Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Veloso in the 9th minute of play. Túlio Paraíba scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gildo Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 12 played minutes Gurjao got a freekick which was hit by Hernani Pitta. Dênis de Godoy made in the 16th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Marco de Alcântara however managed to control. The corner led Gurjao's Romário Quirino to fire away a dangerous shot which Gildo Cruz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Túlio Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gurjao's Vânderson Pimenta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Gurjao from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute Agnaldo Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Pimenta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Humberto Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Paulo de Sena hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Arapira's Francisco Recife broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Gurjao's Vânderson Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Veloso in the 44th minute of play. Humberto Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo Cruz having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agnaldo Veloso was the one to do the kick off. Vânderson Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agnaldo Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute Agnaldo Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Pimenta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vânderson Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. When Pedro Paulo de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Arapira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Paulo de Sena couldn't finish the play. Hernani Pitta hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. When Agenor Pimenta fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gurjao's protests and gave Agenor Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. Agenor Pimenta hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Vânderson Pimenta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Paulo de Sena in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo Veloso in the 70th minute of play forced Gurjao's goalkeeper Vânderson Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mané Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Pimenta having to interfere. Vânderson Pimenta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Gurjao's Jaime Senna got a free kick in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Recife in the 80th minute of play forced Gurjao's goalkeeper Vânderson Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Arapira's Gildo Cruz got control of the ball when Túlio Paraíba tried to sneak it across the goal line. Túlio Paraíba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gildo Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Gurjao's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
