The referee ignored Araporanga SS's protests and gave Kaká Ramalho a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes Araporanga SS got a freekick which was hit by Kaká Ramalho. Ivo Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RODRSO 02's Ivo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho Proença in the 25th minute of play. Evaristo Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ivo Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Araporanga SS booed when RODRSO 02 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Benjamin Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Evaristo Arósio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evaristo Arósio was the one to do the kick off. Dudu Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Evaristo Arósio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivo Maranhense was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. In the 68th minute, Benjamin Coutinho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ivo Maranhense, passed just outside the right post. In the 70th minute Evaristo Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Eduardo Godoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Luís da Mata went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, RODRSO 02's Alexsandro Sousa got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Benjamin Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araporanga SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivo Maranhense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 87 minutes into the match, Benjamin Coutinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivo Maranhense. RODRSO 02's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benjamin Coutinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Luís Eduardo Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Alexandre Pernambucano charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexandre Pernambucano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, Alexandre Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivo Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Arósio in the 97th minute of the match. Araporanga SS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
