Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arthur Veloso took the kick off in the first half of the match. Nilson de Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Rocha in the 5th minute of play. When Zé Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Flora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Rocha couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Paraense in the 14th minute of play forced Flora's goalkeeper Luisinho Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flora's Luisinho Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedito Botelho in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th minute Roger Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Arthur Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, João Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilson de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Arthur Veloso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nilson de Carvalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Zé Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Nilson de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Flora booed when Merejo EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merejo EC's Nilson de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Rocha in the 44th minute of play. Arthur Veloso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Nilson de Carvalho made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Luisinho Souza was a little too slow when Mateus Moraes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Luisinho Souza made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Rodolfo Paraense sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes into the match, Roger Fontes notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Flora's Luisinho Souza. Luisinho Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With 61 minutes on the clock, Marcus Marques commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 63 minutes, Merejo EC's Maurício Nunes got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Luisinho Souza. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Zé Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flora's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson de Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geraldo Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson de Carvalho having to interfere. After 82 played minutes Flora got a freekick which was hit by Wiliam Bittencourt. Luisinho Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benedito Botelho in the 91st minute. The Merejo EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Merejo EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
