Commandatuba's Jeferson Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the game, Almir Domingues recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of José Paulo Ferreira. Almir Domingues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Almir Domingues fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP's protests and gave Almir Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. Almir Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Commandatuba's Jeferson Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Dudu Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fiori da Mata was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 25 minutes into the game, Dudu Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Fiori da Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. José Paulo Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. If Dudu Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP's zone, Dudu Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fiori da Mata came out of the goal and Dudu Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the game, Commandatuba's Dudu Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fiori da Mata made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP's Almir Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dudu Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Fiori da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Commandatuba's zone, Almir Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Paulo Ferreira came out of the goal and Almir Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Almir Domingues made the kick off in the second half. Commandatuba's José Paulo Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Almir Domingues in the 51st minute of play. After having played for 53 minutes, Almir Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Almir Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54thth minute of the game Paulo Meira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Commandatuba's José Paulo Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Fiori da Mata managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Commandatuba's Dudu Seco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeferson Vides in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fiori da Mata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP's Fiori da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Vides in the 70th minute of play. With his leg Fiori da Mata managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Commandatuba's Dudu Seco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Commandatuba booed when Atenas Itaim Pta ZL SP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball.
