Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tomé Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ardeira EC's Válbson Mumbach got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artur Fonseca hit a great ball. João Cardozo's late challenge caught a Ardeira EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Cardozo helped the player get up and apologised. João Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Pedrão de Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ardeira EC's Válbson Mumbach got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomé Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Kauã Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ardeira EC's protests and gave Kauã Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. Kauã Carneiro hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Válbson Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ardeira EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Válbson Mumbach was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomé Messias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedrão de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Messias having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Válbson Mumbach got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kléberson Terra made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Ardeira EC's goal looked a bit too open when João Cardozo came free, but Cícero Messias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56 minutes, Kléberson Terra made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ardeira EC's Cícero Messias tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Piranguassu's zone, Válbson Mumbach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomé Messias came out of the goal and Válbson Mumbach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomé Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson Mumbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 67th minute, Válbson Mumbach left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ardeira EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 71st minute Kléberson Terra suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodriguinho Aguiar during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Miguel Lago who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Cícero Messias when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 80 minutes, Pedrão de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ardeira EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrão de Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomé Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Mumbach in the 81st minute of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Kauã Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ardeira EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauã Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedrão de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Messias having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
