Bernardinho Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Gigante da Colina getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Wanderson Pitta hit a great ball. João Carlos de Amorim, 27 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 29th minute, Gigante da Colina's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Remo Garcia fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luiz Fernando Diniz might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raphael Vides. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Fernando Diniz ran back to his position shaking his head. Raphael Vides made an important save on a dangerous shot by Remo Garcia in the 32nd minute. In the 37th of the match, Luiz Fernando Diniz tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Raphael Vides got in the way and made a wonderful save. Pombal FC's Remo Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the game, Juarês Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gigante da Colina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pombal FC the free kick. A collision led to Gigante da Colina getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Juarês Queiroz hit a great ball. In the 45thth minute of the game Luiz Fernando Diniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gigante da Colina's Raphael Vides was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fernando Diniz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Gigante da Colina got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Penha. Raphael Vides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Diniz in the 61st minute of the match. Pombal FC's Remo Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Fernando Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Pombal FC's goalkeeper Josué Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wanderson Pitta. João Paulo Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Raphael Vides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardinho Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Wanderson Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gigante da Colina's supporters rose to their feet, but Wanderson Pitta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josué Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
