Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Arlindo Negri got the match started through his kick off. Samambaia's César Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Figueiredo in the 5th minute of play. Egídio Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Silveira having to interfere. After 7 minutes, Falcão Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Samambaia and the Magdalena SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Samambaia got a freekick which was hit by Falcão Neves. After having played for 13 minutes, Egídio Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Magdalena SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egídio Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Samambaia's Gildo Alagoano threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arlindo Negri, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Arlindo Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Gildo Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Magdalena SS's Egídio Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Aníbal Lima put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of César Silveira. Samambaia's Tales Botelho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 37th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. César Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aníbal Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Samambaia's Tales Botelho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gildo Alagoano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The Magdalena SS fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Magdalena SS's Egídio Figueiredo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gildo Alagoano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arlindo Negri's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Samambaia's Falcão Neves got his second yellow card of the match in the 76th minute. The referee ordered Falcão Neves off the ground. The supporters of Magdalena SS booed when Samambaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by Samambaia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sidney da Silveira was slow to take the kick. During this time Magdalena SS's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Magdalena SS's Walmir Moraes got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute, Sidney da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner led Samambaia's Robinho Cabral to fire away a dangerous shot which Gildo Alagoano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Magdalena SS's goal looked a bit too open when Tales Botelho came free, but Gildo Alagoano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Remo Koehler's late challenge caught a Magdalena SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remo Koehler helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Samambaia's Remo Koehler got a free kick in the 95th minute. After a rather tough play, Samambaia's Alfredinho Velasco got a free kick in the 97th minute. Magdalena SS's Sidney da Silveira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 98th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Samambaia. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Magdalena SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
