In the 6th match minute, Nhunguacu SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Vianna to maneuver through the defense. Jarbas Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thiago Gonçalves's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. In the 16th match minute, Nhunguacu SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Neiva to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes, FC Maciel's Luís Guilherme Nascimento shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Duarte Eger came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Maciel reached it. Juninho Zonta lost his temper 24 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Juninho Zonta hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Anselmo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Eger having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Thiago Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nhunguacu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Thiago Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarbas Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Nhunguacu SC's Duarte Eger got control of the ball when Gildo Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 35 minutes of play, Nhunguacu SC's Ian Vianna made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jarbas Queirós was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gildo Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Duarte Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Nhunguacu SC's Duarte Eger got control of the ball when Gildo Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Nhunguacu SC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anselmo Pimenta to strike the kick off in the second half. Nhunguacu SC's Duarte Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamim Valle in the 60th minute of play. After 62 minutes, Juvenal Tinoco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Maciel and the Nhunguacu SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Nhunguacu SC booed when FC Maciel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juvenal Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duarte Eger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. José Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Queirós having to interfere. If José Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Ian Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nhunguacu SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Vianna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Nhunguacu SC's Thiago Gonçalves ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jarbas Queirós. Jarbas Queirós yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Ian Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Queirós having to interfere. A collision led to FC Maciel getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Adrianinho Simão hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, FC Maciel's goalkeeper Jarbas Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ian Vianna.
