Cláudio Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. A collision led to EC Zamboni getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Rafa Sergipano hit a great ball. EC Zamboni's Cláudio Zanette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Tróia in the 16th minute of play. Cláudio Zanette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Tróia in the 18th minute of play forced EC Zamboni's goalkeeper Cláudio Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Michel Urbano suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Rafa Sergipano got his second yellow card in the match during the 19th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 22 minutes into the match, Acarau AD's Dário Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cláudio Zanette narrowly saved just below the crossbar. José das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Cabral having to interfere. Dário Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Gomes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The supporters of Acarau AD booed when EC Zamboni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dário Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Zanette having to interfere. Dinei Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute, Dário Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Acarau AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of EC Zamboni:s goal. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for EC Zamboni. Arlindo Cunha stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Diogo Cabral. 2-1. If Dário Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A hard shot 59 in the game by Dário Alcântara from a close distance when the talented Cláudio Zanette managed to make a qualified save. EC Zamboni's players were relieved. Cláudio Zanette acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 63rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gilson Rodrigues. 65 minutes into the game, Alfredo Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EC Zamboni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acarau AD the free kick. After 68 played minutes EC Zamboni got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Jacinto. Dário Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cláudio Zanette was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Geovanni Tróia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 76 minute of play. Cláudio Zanette made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dário Alcântara in the 81st minute. Dário Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Cláudio Zanette made a huge save. EC Zamboni's Cláudio Zanette proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save EC Zamboni from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute, EC Zamboni's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dário Alcântara fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Pedro Luiz Mattos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Cláudio Zanette made a huge save. Gilson Rodrigues was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 99th minute of the match Arlindo Cunha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diogo Cabral skillfully saved the ball. Acarau AD played a much better game than EC Zamboni and deserved their victory. The EC Zamboni players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
