Roberto Munhoz started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Macajuba FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Romário Miranda hit a great ball. Hélder Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubens Velasco in the 11th minute of the match. Carlos Alberto do Valle struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Dedé Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macajuba FC. Macajuba FC were furious when Dagoberto Seco was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 15 minutes into the game, one of Macajuba FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Macajuba FC's Hélder Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Domingues in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor das Neves in the 25th minute of play forced Macajuba FC's goalkeeper Hélder Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélder Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Munhoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Citizens Blues F.C's Dedé Fontes got control of the ball when Laerte Machado tried to sneak it across the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Rubens Velasco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Hélder Trigo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Bruninho Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Macajuba FC's Bruninho Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jano Proença to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Citizens Blues F.C's Roberto Munhoz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hélder Trigo. Hélder Trigo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. When Jano Proença came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Macajuba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano Proença couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the match, Citizens Blues F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Bruninho Mesquita came free, but Dedé Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Macajuba FC's Hélder Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Munhoz in the 61st minute of play. Dedé Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Dedé Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Machado in the 73rd minute of play. In the 78th minute, Jano Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dino Domingues during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
