In the 17th minute Sebastião Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Embirucu getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Rubinho Chaves hit a great ball. It was a well-played corner which Vivaldo Lago managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Paulo Donato might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fábio de Toledo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Donato ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Embirucu booed when Itapevi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itapevi's Luís Fábio de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Donato in the 32nd minute of play. Sebastião Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonel Nunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Alex Trancoso made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Paulo Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot. Embirucu's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Donato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Fábio de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Fábio de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Salgado in the 41st minute of play. Paulo Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Trancoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonel Nunes in the 48th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vivaldo Lago to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Itapevi getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Rony Vasconcelos hit a great ball. Sebastião Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Luís Fábio de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joélson Viana's late challenge caught a Itapevi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joélson Viana helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Embirucu's Joélson Viana got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 62ndth minute of the game Vivaldo Lago who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Embirucu's Alex Trancoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paulo Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Embirucu's Joélson Viana got his second yellow card of the match in the 71st minute. The referee ordered Joélson Viana off the ground. In the 72nd match minute, Embirucu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joélson Viana to maneuver through the defense. If Sebastião Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 minutes, Cido Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Embirucu and the Itapevi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cido Garcia hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. A well done corner resulted in Dé Veloso drilling the ball in to score 1-0 behind Embirucu's goalkeeper. Sebastião Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Luís Fábio de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sebastião Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Itapevi support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
