The audience was convinced that Pedrinho Botelho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulisses Gaúcho was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Martim's zone, Pedrinho Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulisses Gaúcho came out of the goal and Pedrinho Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martim's Anselmo da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Condeuba getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Isaltino Gomes hit a great ball. When Bruninho Mattos fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Condeuba's protests and gave Bruninho Mattos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th match minute, Condeuba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruninho Mattos to maneuver through the defense. Marcel Paes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Condeuba's Murilo Couto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Condeuba from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Anselmo da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Martim's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo da Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murilo Couto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Condeuba's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Erik Carvalho 37 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Marcel Paes charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel Paes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcel Paes hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, Anselmo da Fonseca fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Pedrinho Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ulisses Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Pedrinho Botelho could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Ulisses Gaúcho however easily saved by the left post. In the 54th minute of the match José Augusto Vander shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Murilo Couto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Erik Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo Couto having to interfere. Anselmo da Fonseca might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Murilo Couto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo da Fonseca ran back to his position shaking his head. Isaltino Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. If Pedrinho Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Erik Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Murilo Couto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedrinho Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Condeuba players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Martim.
